The accurate definition of Sanskrit term Yoga is union. Yoga makes body strong and flexible, developing body balance. But also Yoga bestows you much more than that. Yoga supports reduce tension in your body, grow joint movements, decrease lower back pain by empowering the spine. Few of the major positive results of Yoga are improvement of posture, boosts glands in the endocrine system and improves digestion, circulation, immune system and much more.

Yoga too has aide to the mental condition of body. It helps enhance body awareness, soothes stress factors in the body, supports growing concentration, relaxes the the body and the mind. You will become disciplined with Yoga.

I suggest you must try out one or two types of Yoga at least if you are a beginner in this field. There is no hard and fast rule that states you need to practice only one type of Yoga. I like Ashtanga Yoga best, but I even go to occasional Iyengar and Hatha Yoga classes for extra variety.

Four forms of Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Karma Yoga help us to get moksha. That means the perpetual freedom, freedom from deaths and lives, freedom from good and evil. In simple words Yoga is the methods of spiritual illumination.
